The Thailand Science Research and Innovation Agency (TSRI) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Professor Dr. Sompong Klainongsuang, Director of TSRI, on the occasion of his election as a Governing Board Member of the Global Research Council (GRC), representing the Asia-Pacific region. This prestigious appointment was made through a vote by GRC members during the 13th Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council, held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from May 18–22, 2025.

The Global Research Council (GRC) is a collaborative network of research funding agencies worldwide, aiming to foster international cooperation in science, research, and innovation. Being elected to the Governing Board is not only a tremendous honor for Thailand but also a testament to the capacity and leadership of TSRI in shaping international research and innovation policy.

Furthermore, in 2026, Thailand—through the Thailand Science Research and Innovation Agency (TSRI)—will have the distinct honor of hosting the 14th Annual Meeting of the Global Research Council (GRC). This prominent forum will convene researchers, policymakers, and representatives from research funding organizations across the globe to exchange ideas and foster international academic collaboration, shaping the future of science and innovation.
