Don't Miss: Thailand's NRIIS Announces Comprehensive Research Funding Opportunities from Nine National Agencies Thailand's National Research and Innovation Information System (NRIIS) has announced the availability of research funding opportunities from all nine major Thai research agencies for the upcoming fiscal year budget. The comprehensive funding initiative represents a significant investment in the country's research and innovation capabilities across multiple sectors, with grants covering virtually every field of research from basic sciences to applied technologies, ensuring comprehensive support for researchers across all disciplines and areas of study.NRIIS, developed by the National Research Office under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, serves as the central platform consolidating research opportunities from Thailand's key funding bodies. The system provides researchers with streamlined access to funding applications and comprehensive information about available grants. The funding covers diverse research areas including nuclear energy and radiation, children's quality of life enhancement, economic development through value-added and creative economies, OTOP product promotion, organic agriculture, disaster management, dengue fever research, invasive species studies, and elderly care research. Additional focus areas include rubber research, durian development, PM 2.5 management, medical cannabis and kratom studies, water management, medical innovation, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology. This announcement comes as Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) has allocated 8 billion baht to bolster the country's young researcher supply, particularly supporting S-curve industries such as artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, and quantum technologies.Researchers and academic institutions are encouraged to visit the NRIIS website at https://nriis.go.th/www/ to explore available funding opportunities and submit their research proposals for the upcoming fiscal year. The platform offers comprehensive support for project management and facilitates collaboration between researchers and funding agencies across Thailand's research ecosystem. The initiative reflects Thailand's commitment to strengthening its research infrastructure and maintaining competitiveness in the global knowledge economy through sustained investment in scientific research and innovation.
