Please note that sometimes people say "visa", it may refer to the "status of residence”. Top 1% Journal 2025https://www.scopus.com/pages/ai?temporary-convo=false&conversationId=075ba998-a2ff-4f34-b1cf-21ed22d49c70To identify the top 1% journals in 2025, we can look at various metrics and rankings that are commonly used to evaluate journal quality and impact. These include the Impact Factor (IF), SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), and other bibliometric indicators.Key Metrics and RankingsImpact Factor (IF)The Impact Factor is a measure reflecting the yearly average number of citations to recent articles published in a journal. For example, in the field of 'Nutrition and Dietetics', journals with an IF ≥ 6.0 were analyzed, showing significant citation counts and impact 1.SCImago Journal Rank (SJR)SJR ranks journals into four quartiles (Q1–Q4) based on their impact and quality. Journals in the top quartile (Q1) are considered to be of the highest quality. For instance, the SCImago Journal Rank database is used to evaluate journal prestige in various fields, such as environmental engineering and orthopedics 2 3 4.Journal Article Influence Index (JAII)The JAII is another metric used to evaluate the influence of academic journals. For example, the 2022 JAII was used to rank core journals in orthopedics and gastroenterology, highlighting the highest and lowest influence scores 5 6.Examples of High-Impact JournalsPreventing Chronic Disease (PCD)PCD saw a significant increase in its impact factor, reaching 4.354, and was ranked in the top 10% of more than 27,000 journals evaluated by Scimago in 2021 7.Top Intensive Care JournalsA bibliometric analysis of the top 10 intensive care journals with the highest 2022 Impact Factors showed a strong representation of high-impact research from high-income countries 8.Critical Care Nursing JournalsThe top critical care nursing journals, such as Intensive and Critical Care Nursing (ICCN) and Nursing in Critical Care (NICC), were analyzed for their top-cited papers, indicating significant contributions to the field 9.Trends and ObservationsGeographic and Publisher InfluenceWestern countries and private publishers dominate the top-tier journals in many fields. For example, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Netherlands house a significant proportion of top journals in environmental engineering 3.Gender DisparitiesDespite improvements, gender disparities in authorship persist in top medical research journals, with women underrepresented as first and senior authors 10.Open Access vs. Subscription ModelsOpen access articles tend to receive more citations compared to subscription-based articles, as seen in critical care nursing journals 9.ConclusionTo be considered in the top 1% of journals in 2025, a journal would likely need to have a high Impact Factor, be ranked in the top quartile (Q1) by SCImago, and demonstrate significant influence through metrics like the JAII. Journals such as PCD, top intensive care journals, and critical care nursing journals exemplify the characteristics of high-impact publications. Additionally, trends such as geographic dominance, gender disparities, and the impact of open access publishing are important factors influencing journal rankings and impact.
